Longboat Key has shops in small collections sprinkled along its entire length. The lush topical landscaped Avenue of the Flowers is within a short walking distance with convenient gourmet grocery and prescription stores, as well as exclusive and casual shops offering the latest in women's and men's fashion. A short drive away you quickly will discover St Armands Circle, truly one of the most enchanting shopping experiences in Florida. In fact, people come from all over the world to shop at historic St. Armands Circle's eclectic fashion and art boutiques, enjoy fine cuisine at sidewalk cafés, and marvel at the surrounding lush gardens and many famous artistic sculptures.

Just over the bridge is downtown Sarasota, offering three wonderful and distinct shopping experiences. Separated by two blocks is the Main Street collection, offering small-town Americana shops and the Palm Avenue collection that is home to the art galleries of many local and international artists.

525 Bay Isle Parkway, a short walk south of SeaSide Garden Retreat

Located just off of Gulf of Mexico Drive one-half mile south of SeaSide Garden Retreat (You drove past it!). It's almost impossible to see from the road because it is one of the most beautifully landscaped shopping areas on the island. It includes a major grocery store (gourmet version) and drug store, Men's and Women's apparel, restaurants and more. Stores include: Publix Supermarket, CVS Drugs, UPS Store, Network Video, Brightwater Boutique, Lifestyles, Philips Menswear, Susan Stribling's New Traditions, Zodiac Fine Jewelry & Collectable. The town Post Office is located on a side street off the north end of these shops.

   

 

The Centre Shops

Located about mid-island are a collection of specialty boutiques and restaurants. There are also numerous galleries and an assortment of unique fashion boutiques. Downtown Sarasota Collections
Main Street Collection

Stroll the sidewalks of Main Street and enjoy their unique small-town Americana shopping experience. Main Street, together with Palm Avenue Collection, form the center of the art galleries in Sarasota. Here you'll find paintings, photography, sculptures, ceramics and designer jewelry, as well as, a good selection of international fine art and crafts. You're invited by the Downtown Association to their First Friday Walks, held on the first Friday of the month from 6 - 9pm. Shops and galleries on Main Street include Art Uptown, Gold Fish Galleries, 1369 Main Street Studios, Paradise Gallery, Santa Fe Trails Gallery, Rousseau's, Siam Heritage.

Sarasota has a very active artist community with driven by the internationally known Ringling School of Art. The works of these local artists, as well as international artists are on display in many well-designed galleries along historic Palm Avenue. You'll be able to find unique gifts, special art pieces, custom designed furniture, unique handmade jewelry, European artifacts, and fine art oil paintings, and more You're invited by the Palm Avenue Arts Alliance to their First Friday Art Walks held on the first Friday of the month from 6 - 9pm. The SoMa District

The SoMa district is located in downtown Sarasota and is bordered by Pineapple and Orange Avenues and State Street. It is well known for its collection of fine antique dealers. You're invited by The SoMa District to spend an evening walking "back in time" on the 2nd Friday of every month. The walks are from 5:30PM-8PM.
